Special Order Websites

Get a website that has just the features and style needed to help tell your church or organization’s story. A “Special Order” website offers a fresh design, your own sitemap, your choice of features and more…. All aimed at developing a website that’s uniquely suited for the needs of your church or organization. The majority of sites Faithlab develops are Special Order websites.

The development process for a Special Order website can take 2-3 months to complete, depending on the scope of the project. Contact Faithlab for a free consultation about your website needs. With the information we gain from the consultation, we will develop a proposal that lists included features and a flat-fee price for the project.

We typically create Special Order websites using the Squarespace CMS. It’s the most elegant and simple-to-use system we’ve ever used, and our clients love it. Using their latest version 6 system, all sites developed in Squarespace also come fully mobile-optimized, so they look great on smartphones and tablets.

Or, if your organization needs additional features and abilities, we also can develop robust sites using the WordPress CMS. A wealth of add-on features allows us to create sites for a wide variety of needs. Have a particular feature need? Let us know and we’ll let you know if we can help.

Development Process

Faithlab works through these phases in the development of a new website, and we are extremely personal and responsive during the process:

1. Discovery
In consultation with your team, we gather information need to help us with structure and design drafts. We aren’t just interested in the features needed, but in the story of your church or organization. That’s the story that the new site needs to tell.

2. Architecture
A sitemap/site architecture for the new site is proposed. After feedback from your team, the map is set (although it can be changed adapted as needed after launch). The Content Management System (CMS) options are also explored (WordPress or Squarespace) and a CMS chosen in this phase.

3. Design
With the architecture decided, Faithlab proposes a design for the new site. After requested revisions, the design is set. If photography or video production services are chosen, these are part of this phase.

4. Build-out
The design and architecture are wed to the chosen CMS system. Pages are built out and content (text, images, videos, audio files, etc.) entered. If needed, the eCommerce system is integrated and forms developed.

5. Testing
The new site is tested and reviewed for quality and functionality, on multiple browsers and on multiple mobile devices. Adjustments are provided to correct for bugs or other issues that appear.

6. Training (unless your church or organization chooses the Faithlab Updating Plan – we handle weekly updates for you!). As the site nears launch readiness, training is provided for the appropriate person/persons. The training includes video-based and live personal sessions.
